What to wear
Autumn air, mountain crossings, chilly winds, fjords & ferries… The 17th of September is coming really fast!
Now, what should you bring with you to keep comfortable and warm besides antibac and your facemask?
September in north-western Norway might be a little bit of late summer, but most likely we will experience the crisp air of fall. You should be thankful - as your SM will be less prone to overheat. However - we are gonna stop for the views and for shooting photos at spectacular places where you might want to put on something to keep the chilly winds out. The following items should be considered:
Windbreaker (coat or jacket)
Scarf - it does not have to be Holzweiler or L&V. Just something to keep your neck and throat comfy at all speeds and all hights.
Raincoat + umbrella (yes, believe it or not - we might experience a few showers)
Comfortable trousers. OK - if you’re into slim fit, that’s fine - but remember, you will be spending a lot of time in those delicious leather seats…
Wool sweater to keep you warm. Remember: You might want to drive with open windows to take in all that fresh air and the smell of nature and high octane…
Shoes. Wear your favourite driving shoes, but keep another more off-track pair at hand when we stop for views. Tracks might be slippery.
Underwear… We don’t care. Go commando if you like.
Swimwear. Alexandra, Loen is a spa hotel. You might want to explore what it has to offer. Bring proper clothes.
For dinners etc. You drive the SM. You know the drill - we shouldn’t have to learn you anything about style.
At all costs: Avoid funny headwear and cool heads, we will take care of you.
Welcome!
OH! And let´s not forget
The evening sun in Norway is rolling along the horizon for quite a few hours. Makes you sometimes wonder if it will ever set. Ray-ban´s might be great for driving and not just for the looks. Remember to keep a pair of shades at hand.
Driving gloves - well - to me, the haptic feedback from the soft polyurethane wheel of the SM is nice enough. Still, a pair of gloves might come in handy when we stop for photos - both for the looks, but also for the heat. Bring an extra pair as your partner for sure will forget hers / his.
Welcome to Norway and the Citroën SM world meet!
This feature is also distributed by email to paying guests. If you have any questions or want to share some experiences with other attendees, just reply to that email. Looking forward to meet you all!
Cheers,
Robert & event team.
