Herangtunet Boutique Hotel Norway – an intimate and luxurious hideaway…

Arriving in Norway at Oslo Airport we hired a car and took the scenic route towards Herangutunet Boutique Hotel. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the quaint town of Heggenes and driving towards the hotel you almost think for a second you are lost. The Hotel is magnificent and right in the middle of the forest. It truly does take your breath away. I absolutely loved how the hotel is at one with nature and eco-friendly in every sense.

Depending on open roads across Valdresflye for the season, we will stop for lunch at Herangtunet on the way to Geiranger Friday May 21.

Squeezed in between the Hegge Fjord and Jotunheimen, Norway's highest mountain range, in the Norwegian province of Valdres, one can find the village of Heggenes. Here, at 500 meters altitude, surrounded by woods and water, is a magnificent estate, with right in the middle, as in a fairy tale, our sizable wooden home. It's name? Herang Tunet! And Tunet means 'farm garden'.

Our guesthouse is a typical traditional build for the Valdres province. Around it are some more ancient (uninhabited) buildings that the province has moved here in order to conserve its cultural heritage. We acquired Herang Tunet in 2003 and are now in a position to house 14 guests in vife stylish themed rooms and in a fully furnished apartment.

Our restaurant with a cozy wood-burning stove and big dining tables makes the hall perfect for celebrations and parties. We transfered Herang Tunet into a full service design hotel with an authentic atmosphere that anybody would love to have at home!
